Common questions
Why is Describe It unavailable?
Describe It requires Apple Intelligence to be enabled on a supported device, along with microphone and speech-recognition permission. The on-device language model and dictation are not available in the iOS Simulator.
Does my spoken workout get sent to a server?
No. BLAST transcribes your description on the device and uses the system language model on the device to build the proposed timer. Describe It does not require an AI API or network connection.
Can I correct what Describe It creates?
Yes. Nothing is saved until you review it. Intervals can be renamed, re-timed, retyped, added, duplicated or deleted, and you can describe the change again if that is faster.
Can I hear cues with the phone in my pocket?
BLAST is designed for that. Interval kinds have distinct cue pitches and can use optional spoken names. Voice cues can be configured in Settings and overridden for an individual timer.
What can Siri control?
BLAST supports Siri phrases for starting a named workout, starting the most recently used workout, pausing or resuming, skipping an interval, and stopping the active workout.
What does the Apple Watch app do?
The standalone Watch app uses the same timer library, provides taptic cues, and runs a HealthKit workout session so the timer can continue when your wrist drops. Timers can sync between devices through iCloud.
Why didn’t an alarm or background alert fire?
Check the relevant BLAST sound or voice setting and the Apple permissions for alarms, notifications and audio. Some system alert behaviour depends on device state and Apple permissions.
