HanDigi Studio believes privacy information should be understandable. BLAST is designed so its core timer features work without a separate HanDigi account, and the information used for features such as Describe It is kept as local as the feature allows.
Your choices
You choose whether to use features that need additional Apple permissions, including microphone, speech recognition, Apple Watch Health access and alarms. Declining a permission limits the feature that needs it rather than requiring unrelated information to be shared.
Describe It: speech and on-device intelligence
When you use Describe It, BLAST uses the microphone to capture your spoken workout description, Apple’s on-device speech technology to transcribe it, and the system language model to create a proposed timer plan. Transcription and generation run on the device. BLAST does not send the description to a HanDigi server or to a third-party AI API, and the feature does not require a network connection for generation.
Nothing is saved as a timer until you review the proposed workout and choose to save it.
Timer profiles and workout history
BLAST stores the timer profiles, intervals, preferences and completed workout information needed to provide your timer library, history, calendar and statistics.
iCloud and device sync
BLAST uses Apple CloudKit to mirror supported timer and workout information so the library can be available across your Apple devices, including Apple Watch. Cloud sync is provided through Apple’s iCloud infrastructure and is subject to your Apple account and device settings.
Apple Watch and HealthKit
The Apple Watch app uses HealthKit when you grant permission so a workout session can remain active while your wrist is lowered and so completed workouts can be recorded. Health access is used for these Watch workout features rather than for advertising or profiling.
Voice cues and audio
If enabled, BLAST can play interval cues and optional spoken interval names so a session can be followed without looking at the screen. Voice preferences can be set app-wide and may also be overridden for an individual timer.
Siri, Shortcuts, Live Activities and Control Centre
BLAST integrates with Apple system features such as Siri, Shortcuts, Live Activities, Dynamic Island and Control Centre to let you start or control workouts. Those features operate through Apple platform services and the permissions and settings available on your device.
Alarms and notifications
If you grant alarm or notification permission, BLAST can use Apple system alert features for timer-related alerts, including while the device is locked or in Silent mode where supported by the system.
Widgets
BLAST may publish limited summary information such as workout totals and streak data to shared app storage so its Home Screen widget can display the information you choose to surface.
Accounts and advertising
BLAST does not require a separate HanDigi account for its core features. HanDigi Studio does not sell your personal information.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete timers and workout data from within BLAST where those controls are provided. Deleting the app removes local app data from that device. Information mirrored through Apple services is also subject to the controls available through your Apple account and device settings.
Children
The app is not directed to children for the purpose of collecting personal information in circumstances where parental consent would be required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
