Common questions
How current is the trial data?
TrialBeacon refreshes its derived ClinicalTrials.gov dataset on a monthly cadence. Because the app uses a snapshot, a study can change on ClinicalTrials.gov between TrialBeacon data updates.
Why does TrialBeacon differ from ClinicalTrials.gov?
Recruitment status, locations, contacts and other study details can change after the dataset packaged with TrialBeacon was refreshed. Confirm current information in the live ClinicalTrials.gov record before relying on it.
Does TrialBeacon send my searches to a HanDigi server?
Core search and discovery are designed to work against trial data stored with the app, rather than sending each search to a HanDigi search server. Your watchlist and personal organisation data are designed to stay on your device.
Does a study appearing in TrialBeacon mean it is safe or approved?
No. TrialBeacon presents public study information and does not validate a study’s safety, scientific merit or suitability for you. ClinicalTrials.gov also states that the U.S. government does not review or approve the safety and science of all studies listed there.
Can TrialBeacon tell me whether I should join a study?
No. TrialBeacon is for research and discovery, not medical advice or eligibility decisions. Confirm current study information with ClinicalTrials.gov and discuss participation questions with the study team or an appropriate healthcare professional.
